A good idea?

I have heard a rumour that next year the Bridewell are doing yet another compilation show featuring the songs that our beloved Steve wrote for Children and Animals, but they are stuck for a title. Any ideas anyone out there?

Re: A not so good idea?

OK, that was just me having a little joke. I was so fed up watching 'The Road I wished I hadn't taken' my mind sort of wandered. Sorry if anyone got really excited!

Re: A not so good idea?

I know it's not for real, but would 'Children and Ark' do?

Re: A not so good idea?

Ha ha ha from me too - though you nearly had me going for a bit. How about an informal competition for the most outlandish suggestion for a Sondheim evening?

Re: A not so good idea?

Don't make such jokes Gill. Someone will think it's a great idea and actually DO IT!!! Could it be worse than that dreary Road?

Re: A not so good idea?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha !
You little devil !

Gill
Perhaps you could let me know where you heard that rumour? It's the first I have heard of it.

Re: A good idea?

If it's going to be produced by under the auspices of SSS i think the most appropriate title will be "A Little Shite Music"

Re: A good idea?

This is the most ridiculous idea I've heard yet ! It's about time Steve intervened in such stupid compilations shows - I sincerely hope the Society is not encouraging it!

Re: A good idea?

A really mawkish, stupid idea! I'm sure W.C.Fields could have thought up a title for that one. Top of my give-it-a-miss list.

Re: A good idea?

I've got a good idea - why don't they actually put on a full production rather than endless compilations ? I know these are more expensive but they don't all need *huge* casts. You can do Assassins with 9 people and Company and Passion with a similar number. Has Do I Hear A Waltz ever had a full professional production ? (The Landor did it a couple of years back).

Re: A good idea?

They being the Society; we would love to mount a full production, but we simply don't have enough money. We have asked members if they would be willing to donate (be angels) but no-one was willing. So we work on the basis that at least a concert ensures that there is some production for people to enjoy/hate and it certainly stimulates discussion!
